"Competency is measured through dynamic questions and intelligent analysis of answers,
not through fixed tests or document verification."
This page explains the principle on which the entire system is built, lets you try the
assessment code builder wizard, introduces the differences between individual, team, and
organizational paths, answers the most frequently asked questions, and includes a registration
form to actually try the system.
STI Competency Gateway is based on a scientifically coherent assessment methodology that
differs radically from traditional tests and reliance on certificates and documents. Below
are the foundations on which this approach is built.
Why dynamic questions?
Because every participant has a different experience and path, fixed questions do not
reflect the actual reality of competency. The AI generates questions that adapt to each
previous answer, diving into strengths and exploring potential gaps with greater accuracy
than any rigid survey.
Why is answer analysis the measurement method?
Because how the participant thinks through the answer, their logic, and practical details
reveal the true level of competency more than merely selecting a correct multiple-choice
answer. The system analyzes the content, context, and cognitive depth of each answer, not
just its correctness.
Why competency estimation instead of traditional grades?
A traditional grade (such as 85 out of 100) does not express the nature or context of
competency. Therefore the system "estimates" the competency level (Competency Estimation)
based on accumulated evidence from the answers, closer to the assessment of a specialized
expert across multiple sessions.
What is the Confidence Score?
It is an indicator that determines the reliability of the final result, calculated from
the number of collected evidence, the consistency of answers, and the depth of follow-up
questions. The higher the confidence, the more accurate the decision about the competency
level and certificate eligibility.
The Framework in Four Layers
01
Philosophy
Why does the system exist? The principle that governs every design decision within it.
02
Model
What does the system measure? Target, paths, domains, levels.
03
Engine
How does the system work? Question generation, analysis, estimation, confidence.
04
Architecture
How does it remain scalable? Static codes and continuously evolving content.
What the system measures
Paths: Individual, Team, Organizational, Sectoral
All targets use the same assessment methodology (dynamic questions + intelligent analysis),
but the objectives, outputs, and how results are read differ according to the nature of each
target.
Individual Path
Aims to assess the competency of a single person within a profession, job role, or custom
path. The individual goes through a dynamic question session that adapts to their answers,
and at the end receives an accurate estimation of their level across the five domains.
Suitable for recruitment, promotion, and self-development.
You can choose a specific profession path, job role, or custom path.
Produces a verifiable individual competency certificate upon eligibility.

Team Path
Assesses the competency of a group of individuals working together (sales team,
development team, operations team...), where the system aggregates individual assessments
and analyzes the integration between them to produce a collective picture of overall team
performance.
Reveals competency variance among team members and integration points.
Measures the collective ability to collaborate and make joint decisions.
Suitable for building targeted collective development plans.

Organizational Path
Assesses the readiness of an entire organization (tech company, educational institution,
hospital...) by aggregating individual and team assessments within it, and analyzing them
against organizational competency standards for each domain.
Supports organizational development decisions and HR planning.
Produces a comprehensive organizational report plus an organizational certificate upon eligibility.
Can be linked to a specific organization path within the coding system.

Sectoral Path
Assesses the competency of an entire sector (industrial, educational, health...) by
aggregating results from a number of organizations operating within it, to track general
trends and the level of professional maturity at the sector level.
Useful for government entities, professional organizations, and investors.
Provides a strategic view of development opportunities at the sector level.
Relies on the same unified five domains and five levels.

Assessment Code Builder Wizard
Choose the assessment specifications step by step, and the wizard will instantly generate the
matching assessment code with a detailed explanation of each part of the code. The code
expresses only the identity and structure of the assessment, and
does not change the questions or analysis criteria.

Important note
The assessment code expresses only the identity and structure of the assessment (target,
path, domain, mode, depth, and level), and does not express the questions, analysis criteria,
AI models, report content, or certificate conditions; all of these are evolving elements that
change continuously without the code itself changing.
How the system works
How Each Assessment Is Conducted
Every assessment — regardless of target or path — goes through the same ten stages below.
1
Determine Target
Individual, team, organization, or sector.
2
Choose Path
Profession, job role, organization, industry, or custom path.
3
Determine Level
Choose the target level from the five levels.
4
Generate Questions
The AI generates dynamic questions matching the specifications.
5
Analyze Answers
Analyze the depth, logic, and content of each answer provided.
6
Follow-up Questions
Ask additional questions when needed to deepen understanding or resolve doubt.
7
Calculate Confidence
Determine the reliability of the evidence collected from answers.
8
Estimate Competency
Infer the competency level closest to the observed actual performance.
9
Prepare Professional Report
A report showing strengths, development opportunities, and recommendations.
10
Issue Certificate
Upon meeting level requirements, a verifiable certificate is issued.

Frequently Asked Questions
The most frequently asked questions about the system principle, codes, paths, and certificates.
Traditional tests rely on fixed questions and final grades, while STI relies on dynamic questions that adapt to each answer and intelligent analysis that estimates actual competency instead of calculating a rigid numeric grade.
It is calculated from the amount of evidence collected through answers, their consistency, and the depth of follow-up questions the system asked. The more consistent evidence, the higher the confidence in the estimated competency level.
No. The code expresses only the identity and structure of the assessment (target, path, domain, mode, depth, and level). The questions, analysis criteria, and reports are evolving elements that change continuously without affecting the code format.
The individual path assesses a single person within a specific profession or job role. The team path assesses a group of individuals working as one team and analyzes the integration of competencies among them, not just each individual's performance separately.
Yes, the participant can retake the assessment after a development period, and the system will generate a new set of dynamic questions matching the new target level.
The certificate is issued automatically upon meeting the target level requirements, and carries the assessment code and a verification link that allows any party to confirm the certificate's validity and link it to the original assessment session.
Yes, thanks to the separation between the static layer (structure and codes) and the changing layer (questions and content), any new path can be added without modifying the system's core framework.
